Technical Sales Associate

BuildingFit is looking to grow its sales staff and currently has opening for Technical Sales Associates.  The technical sales associate is responsible for connecting with leads, identifying sales opportunities, and closing the sale.  The position will work closely with both our marketing, customer success, and product development groups.


  • Building and maintaining relationships with industry leaders, associations and organizations in regional or vertical markets.
  • Representing BuildingFit at Conferences, Events, and in the Community at Large
  • Lead Development
  • Proposal Writing and Qualification Package Development
  • Pricing
  • Sales
  • Opportunity Tracking Through Customer Relationship Management Database
  • Maintaining thorough records and completing accurate contract initiation.
  • Contributing and developing market strategies, including:
    • SWOT analysis, competitive analysis and vertical market and horizontal offering
    • Channel Partner Program
  • Responding to requests for proposals and requests for qualifications.
  • Reporting identified potential business risk elements and participating in mitigation efforts.
  • Creating and delivering processes, standards, and communication channels to increase efficiency.
  • Reviewing and discussing findings and reports with internal teams and customers to drive further opportunities, develop and maintain a sales plan for identifying energy project opportunities and other services, and coordinate and perform duties and responsibilities such as lead generation, customer services, proposal development, customer acquisition and coordinating the start of projects.

Competencies & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Five or more years sales or technical experience in the energy engineering, HVAC consulting, building controls or equivalent industries.
  • Experience with data driven solutions preferred
  • Excellent communications skills, with customers, team, and stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented
  • Thrives in collaborative environments
  • Customer-focused mindset
  • IT and/or IOT experience a major plus
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite, Wrike and Deltek Vision.
